I was born in Surrey in 1954 and grew up mainly in Wimbledon. I moved
to Oxford in 1972 to study Chemistry. I worked for a major multi-national
in food research for many years. Subsequently, I worked in IT for a
Christian Church, computerising their Accounts. I have now retired from
that job and am currently studying Astronomy and Planetary Science with
the Open University as well as being active in a local church.
I am currently a Member of the Royal
Society of Chemistry and the Institute
of Physics as well as a Fellow of the Royal
Astronomical Society.
I became interested in classical music whilst at school and have always
had an interest in less well known symphonic music, such as the symphonies
of Havergal Brian, of whose eponymous
Society I am a life member.
I am also a
Friend of the London Symphony Orchestra.
